The Public Speaking Winner and the (Overall) Winner of the Lions Youth of The Year was Inayat Pandher was from the Glennie School and representing our Lions Club.
Inayat, accompanied by her mother and her sister, along with our Youth of the Year Chair Bernadette Craig, PDG Rob Craig and Judy Archer from Highfields Lions Club, to the District Judging which was held in Maleny on Saturday 22nd March.
Inayat is thrilled to receive her Participant Certificate at District Judging of Youth of the Year.
Six students participated in the District Q3 Final and they found this experience both rewarding and challenging (especially as it was during exam week).
The Impromptu Questions, one of which was on AI, showed the depth of background knowledge each students has and the different ways they view this very topical subject, one that is here to stay.
Inayat was unsuccessful at this level and so that is where her journey with YotY ends. We wish her well for a successful future … which I might add includes interest in SPARQ-ed at Lions Medical Research Foundation.
From Inayat’s mum, Parneet …
“Thank you for all that you and all the Lions have done for our beautiful daughter Inayat. We feel very privileged to have been able to know you and get so much support from you all throughout Inayat's journey for this competition.
Please know that my words will fail to describe how incredibly beautiful you all are!”
